The bed was super and there was free WiFi.
direct connection to old port. we enjoyed location and staff, no complains at all. we found nice two fat cats nearby with hot beverages.
Beautiful hotel lobby and amenities; gorgeous room; very clean, nicely decorated; very well maintained.
Location is a little outside of town, within walking distance, but it is a walk! Parking charges per night - parking was across the street; not exactly convenient. Paid extra for a waterfront view, which was obstructed by back of marina building and parking lot. Take note, hardly any view on 1st floor; be sure to request 2nd floor or above. We asked to be moved and told no availability. Pub closed entirely too early and staff very anxious to empty the room and close the doors @ 10:00 P.M. sharp. Arrived @ 9:30 and was told she was closing in 10 minutes.
To be honest we thought its way too expensive for what it offers. Its a very cheap in quality of the services it offers .Paper plates and cups for a hotel that charges more than $ 300 a night ?. I will not recommend this place to any one .
As I explained above I found it shocking for a hotel that charges so much for a room to be so cheap in the quality of the services it offers.
Quiet, comfortable room.
Lack of parking - having to pay extra for use of garage. For what this hotel charges one would think that they could afford enough usa Todays for their guests. But no, these simple things that one would expect to have available on a daily basis were all but impossible to come by. Very lame.
Close buy to attractions, restaurants, boutiques
The studio-like room was very spacious, and came complete with a kitchen and dining area.
Despite its name, the hotel is definitely not on the waterfront. We did have a view of the ocean, but behind a rather rundown area of downtown Portland. Despite being within walking distance from the old port, I would have preferred a more central and charming area for our stay.
The hotel is well located, you can explore the center of the city by walking.
My husband and I choose a suite with kitchenette. The room beautiful and the price was affordable. The staff was friendly and the amenities included staff shopping. We could spend the day out exploring and our groceries would be at the hotel when we arrived back. There was also a courtyard with an outside fireplace where we spent our evenings meeting new friends and enjoying the sea air.
Beautiful hotel in great location in Portland!
Staff was helpful, friendly, efficient, hotel was quiet, complimentary breakfast was very good, enjoyed the hot tub very much, location was convenient for our needs.
AT 4:00 pm, we checked out complimentary appetizers offered from 4-6, they looked good so we decided to make that our light evening meal with a drink from the bar, advertised to be open at 5:00. Went to the hot tub and returned to lobby at 5:00, not much food left and bar never opened. It was Christmas eve so we do understand, but were disappointed.
Our stay was short but extremely comfortable. We certainly would stay here again if returning to Portland Maine.
Great location for downtown Portland. Walking distance to everything....
HVAC in room was very loud and non stop.
It was conveniently located to DiMillo's where we like to eat in their bar area. We really have no complaints, except the mattress on the side of the bed by the lamp was too soft for my friend. My side was fine. It would be fun to stay for a longer time and cook in. I was able to put my leftovers in the refrigerator. Good job!
This hotel is clearly recently built and very well maintained. We arrived late after traveling in the rain with a one year old and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful and had us on our way to our room quickly. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. We had everything we needed for storing and preparing meals for our daughter and restaurants in very easy walking distance. The area does have some empty lots for development but in no way felt unsafe. There is Sebago Brewery one block away down Fore Street, several cute bakery, coffee and sandwich shops two to three blocks away down India street and then the main section of the Old Port is only about four to five blocks away. The breakfast in the morning had a great selection of items, though the seating was limited. Many people simply spread out into the Shipyard lounge and the staff was very attentive about cleaning the tables to keep things moving for new people to sit as people left. We also used the pool and workout facilities both of which were well maintained and nicely appointed. Overall, fantastic hotel in a great location.
